Selecting a panel My advice on selecting a panel is to go to as many manufacturers as you need to find what you want in a ready made configuration. Most manufacturers made panels in a modular form that allows you to combine various discrete panels is one coordinated arrangement. If you still can't find what you want then consider going with a custom made model.

Breaker configuration Most manufacturers build stock panels to order. This allows you to select your breaker sizes and the panels will then come complete with labels. This is know as custom loaded. Most panels are also available in a stock form, which means that you have to take what you get as far as breaker sizes. This often means that you have to make some modifications yourself. It can also mean a cheaper product as the stock panels benefit from the cost savings of mass production.

	Blue Sea Panels are becoming increasingly popular because of their reasonable cost. They normally come ready loaded with breakers which means that you might often need to swap over some breakers to get the arrangement you want. Even after doing that these panels usually come out best for price. They are all made in a modular form that allows them to be put together to form a larger arrangement. Blue Sea Details

Paneltronics panels	Paneltronics panels offer a wide selection in two colors and can be placed together to form a larger array. They are in the mid price range, and can be custom loaded. The range is particularly useful when planning a 120/240 volt AC installation as that is where the Paneltronics range excels.

Bass Panels	Bass panels are an old favorite, found on many OEM installations. They tend to be more expensive but offer a large range, custom loading, and can be placed together to form larger arrangements.
